Concrete wheel stops give important visual and tactile cues in parking lots.  They help customers to park safely and efficiently.  Setting up these stops properly is the responsibility of the parking lot owner.

Concrete wheel stops are a pretty familiar sight to most drivers.  They are approximately 6 feet wide and 6 inches by 6 inches in cross-section, and are placed near the end of a parking slot.  They are placed within a foot or two of the absolute end (which may be a line or the wall of the parking lot) to allow for the distance the bumper extends beyond the front edge of the wheel.

Most concrete wheel stops are white, the natural colour of the concrete. This makes manufacturing easy, and provides contrast against the black colour of asphalt parking lots.  This is important because the wheel stops are much higher than speed bumps and have nearly square corners – accidentally driving over these barriers can cause damage to a car frame, the suspension, or the wheels.

Some wheel stops are painted black.  This is a good choice when the parking lot itself is concrete, in order to provide contrast.  Placing a black wheel barrier on asphalt gives almost no visual cue and can be dangerous. It is also often contrary to local building codes.

Black wheel stops can also be colour coded.  This is usually done with strips of yellow, white, or blue.  This can increase visibility as well as indicate the nature of the parking slot. The codes follow the same scheme as curbs. For instance, blue stripes indicate handicap parking.

While this isn't a highly sought after keyphrase, it is an exact match for what the client does, finding the best insurance for businesses.

Other keyphrases I would like to concentrate on over the next few months will be

They are the big two, but are more of a long-term project.
